Join Bernard Allan for this 10 week Art History Course on 19th century French art.

The 19th century was a tumultuous period for France with two revolutions, an invasion by the Prussians and the wholesale destruction of the old Paris under Baron Haussmann. Despite this tumult art and artists flourished and for most of the century Paris was the centre of the art world. Our course focuses on the works of such great artists as Ingres, Delacroix, Bonheur, Corot, Courbet, Manet and Monet.
