Reminiscense Services
Fire in East Meon during the 1950s

Reminiscence triggers spontaneous conversations between people which can increase self esteem, improve peoples mood, assist in the forming of friendships and social growth and allow people to see things from another’s points of view.

Petersfield Museum’s reminiscence service provides objects, photographs, sounds and smells all relevant to Petersfield and the surrounding area. The resources provided are multi-sensory to encourage all ages and abilities to take part. It is suitable for use both in the museum and any location where a group of people can gather such as a day centre or care home. The resources can be borrowed as a loans pack, or a session can be lead by the museums education and outreach officer.
