On 6 June 1944, over 156,000 troops from the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and other allied countries stormed the beaches of Normandy in the largest military amphibious operation.
Join us for our D-Day Reminiscence commemorating the 80th anniversary of the event and reflecting on Petersfield and Hampshire's role during this World War II landing operation.
Event Details
Our D-Day Reminiscence event will be an open to the public, self-led session hosted in our Meeting Room.
- Listen to the stories and experiences of local residents featured in a 60th D-Day commemoration video.
- Replicas and handling objects from our World War Two education resources to tell the story of those impacted by the conflict to younger generations.
The session will be open to the public from 10:00am-3:00pm on 6 June 2024.
