About Kathleen Soriano

Kathleen Soriano is an independent curator, art historian, and broadcaster with over 35 years of experience in the art world. She has curated collections and exhibitions, both contemporary and historical, at prestigious institutions such as the National Portrait Gallery, London, and the Royal Academy of Arts, where she served as Artistic Director from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, she was the Director of Compton Verney Art Gallery from 2005 to 2009. In 2004, Kathleen was among the inaugural cohort of Clore Leadership Fellows.

In addition to her curatorial achievements, Kathleen has lectured and written extensively. Her book "Madam and Eve," which focuses on women artists, was published in April 2018. She has also been a prominent figure in broadcasting, notably contributing to six series of "Portrait and Landscape Artist of the Year" for Sky Arts.

Currently, Kathleen serves as Chair of the Liverpool Biennial and is a specialist advisor to the National Trust. She is also on the Advisory Board of Art UK, 2 Temple Place, and the visual arts committee of St Paul’s Cathedral.
