Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery is honoured to have been nominated for two Petersfield Awards in the categories of Event of the Year and Arts & Entertainment.

Petersfield Awards Ceremony

Since 2016, The Petersfield Awards were created to celebrate the “best of the best” people and businesses of Petersfield covering 17 categories. Voting is supported by thousands of local residents and a short list created by an independent panel of judges. For the 2024 Petersfield Awards, more than 650 people placed more than 2,000 nominations.

Event of the Year

We have had a spectacular summer with our record-breaking exhibition, Peggy Guggenheim: Petersfield to Palazzo. Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery has had the incredible privilege to share the story of Peggy Guggenheim’s time at Yew Tree Cottage from 1934 to 1939. This exhibition has featured a focused selection of artworks by artists who the self-described ‘art addict’ knew and supported, photographs showing the life and times of Peggy Guggenheim, letters from her stay at Yew Tree Cottage with our own Fashion and Textiles Collection on display inspired by the iconic wardrobe of Guggenheim. We have been honoured to welcome returning visitors and new guests to this exhibition after years in the making!

Arts & Entertainment Head of Engagement, Ryan Watts, accepting the Arts & Entertainment Award

We are thrilled to have been nominated for Arts & Entertainment for the third year in a row! Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery has been hosting a range of exciting exhibitions and collection displays for 25 years to show the creative art community of makers as well as the incredible local narrative. While we invite visitors to our galleries, we also host a full event programme including live music, theatre, family events, under 5’s events, talks, walks and creative workshops.

As an amazing continuation to our 25th anniversary year, we want to thank everyone who nominated Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery for the Petersfield Awards. We look forward to bringing you more exciting exhibitions as we come into our final month of Peggy Guggenheim: Petersfield to Palazzo with the South Downs Open coming 22 October 2024.
