Join us in celebrating the life and work of Edward Thomas at the Edward Thomas Literary Festival 2024.

Take part in this FREE walk through the landscape of Edward Thomas, culminating at his memorial 'The Poets Stone'.

Event Details
  • Starting point: Bedales school carpark
  • Walk: Approximately 5 miles with arduous terrain; sturdy walking boots and weather appropriate attire recommended.
  • The walk will loop back to Bedales school carpark, but note the Harrow Inn is close by if participants would like a nearby lunch. 

There will be opportunities to stop along the way and reflect on the work and life of Edward Thomas as well as the beauty of the surrounding country side.

Walkers are invited to share their favourite Edward Thomas works, or even their own work inspired by birdsong.

This walk is Free to attend but we recommend booking in advance not to be disappointed. Donations towards the Edward Thomas Festival would be gratefully received.

Weather Conditions

In the case of poor weather conditions on Sunday, 6 October and deemed not safe for the arranged walk around Steep/'The Poets Stone', all pre-booked ticket holders will be contacted via email for alterative arrangements.
